Recommend a GOOD model FRS (NON-GMRS) 2-way radio.

Honestly......I really only need it for 1/2 mile or less. Rural with trees and a home or two in between (1/3 mile or less more likely).


I need it for keeping in touch with my daughters while they're in the neighborhood while on their bike.


I DO want a pair with a rechargeable radio base.

It seems that all brands out there are pushing the GMRS......I don't wanna pay the fee......and I really don't need that range (or price).

Uniden? Motorola? Midland? Cobra?

Although I despise Radio Shack, They have 2 way radios in two packs that are pretty good. They have dual FRS and GMRS frequencies, (just stay off the GMRS freqs and your ok). The ones I bought can be used with AA or a rechargeable pack.
