I went out for 5 hours hunting time today and hit 4 different schoolyard woodchip areas. The first three had fresh woodchips so I didn't find much but some recently lost clad. The fourth school was loaded. I was constantly getting signals digging.. I dig it all in the woodchip areas as some may know. I am exhausted but I set a couple personal records. First for the most quarters in one day, 43 and the second for the most clad found in a day $16.32 , and also for 192 coins.

Keepers found me two.
For the third Saturday in a row, I found a 14kt gold cross. This one has an anchor on it too. I also got a 14kt funny looking earring. Sterling finds were a broken chain hallmarked 925 Italy, a pretty ring with hearts all the way around, hallmarked sterling, and a earring with a huge CZ hallmarked 925. Definitely a great day. All these were found at the fourth school.

A also found about 20 junk jewelry pieces including 6 rings and a nice gold plated pendant that says I love you. Dug a 22 cal bullet unfired too and A LOT of trash.

I am going to post a picture of my trash digs today. I must have dug 50 bent nails today up near the school but this is where I also found the two gold pieces so it was worth it. Must be from building construction or something?

Thanks for reading. Happy hunting to all!

Smiles!

Seems like anytime a playground has a pullup bar, there is always change below it. I think the kids hang there, pull there legs up and hang upside down. At least thats how I used to do it.

Merry-go-rounds and swing sets I seem to find are even better. Could also be the area that you live in. Maybe in mine the kids (and I've seen adults too) gravitate toward those two playground features more.

Wow Bobby ! Nice finds. Three crosses in a row must really mean luck! Thank You for sharing your treasures and trash!
Thanks Gypsy!
I definitely have good luck.
The trash probably weighs close to ten pounds.
I am not sure why, but in the new woodchips,
there are all kinds of steel mabobbers,
they are black color, 1 inch wide, all different lengths
and twisted up like they might have went through the woodchipper?
Glad you stopped in and left the friendly comment, thanks!

Great looking finds! :):)

That "OFF" day you had recently sure didn't repeat itself this time around! :)

Thanks bsco, that's for sure.
I had a great day last Saturday and that "off" day on Sunday,
I think I will stay home and watch football today,
I am still very sore from yesterday anyway.

cheers my friend!

BDoo,

you and that old machine sure do make some
nice music.

Wow, you did a bunch of digging.

Nice keepers, gold and a bunch of silver your
the man.

Those are just a bunch of bobbypins in the
photo and not jewelery, right?

Again, 5 hours in the chips and all that
digging; you did well.

have a good un................

Thank you Sherm for all your great comments and support.

Those are safety pins, it's a safety pin "necklace".
The kids that wear all black wear these as jewelry
but they are just regular safety pins, yes.

BoobyDoo: You do know that holding those kids upside down by their ankles and shaking them isn't fair play, right? SHAME on you.
dang, you discovered my secret.lol :)

It's sweet to find a place that hasn't been searched in a couple years.
It doesn't happen too often. I think three times this year
I have hit a schoolyard like this where there were coins all over the place.
Thanks for the nice comment.

Wow Bdoo!!! Amazing finds, congrats! The 3rd week in a row for a 14kt cross you say? Hmmm...

Congrats on all of those wonderfull finds, i bet you had a great time TH and getting all that gold, silver, and clad to boot! Plus, i bet you were thinking, for every few pieces of trash, theres gonna be a keeper! $16.42 in clad, thats an added bonus! What you could do with that, maybe 16 mercury dimes? Its up to you. Congrats again on all the great diggs, enjoy the weekend!

I'll be interested to hear your take on the three in a row 14kt crosses CC.

I doo have to take my clad in the coinstar as my bin is overflowing. It should be about $140 or so as I cashed in back at the end of June for $110. Not sure what I will doo with it, maybe some silver dollars or halves to replace some of mine that got stolen a few years back. They are so hard to find, might as well buy them.
Thanks for the sweet comment my friend.

Nice Haul. ;D I love that heart ring. I think my best coin day was about 60 coins.

Don't you get a neck ache? That's where I first feel it. All that looking down. Usually after about 3 hrs it starts to bother me.

Hiya Bob!
Thanks for the visit and comment my friend!

I am still really sore as I definitely over did it, but it's hard to stop when you are at a high producing site like that. Actually, there are more areas there to hunt, I didn't get to them all.

When I search in the chips, I hardly ever set my machine down, it stays in my right hand. I flip the targets out with my bayonette with my left hand, pick up the item with my left hand and fill in the hole with my foot while I am putting the find in my pouch. So about 4 hours of this speedy search and recovery is about all I can take. It was a lot of swinging and digging for sure, but well worth it on this day!

Three crosses, huh? One for Jesus and the other two for the two thieves.

Yep, those are high producing areas and the swings.

Bobby, Youve definitely got a better class of woodchips in your area.
Youre treasure chest has grown quite well this summer....Congrats again...Joe

Yes sir, been very fortunate this year,
plus I have worked really hard at it too.
It's a lot of hard work but fun and well worth it
when I am digging things like this.
Thanks for the sweet comment. Best of kluck out there!

WOW !! :o Bobby !! You were on a marathon MDing run today ! Congrats ! ;D

Thanks Reddie,
especially at the last place, it seemed like I got a signal just about every swing of the detector, not really, but it seemed that way. It was pretty grueling for sure. It's hard to stay focussed while digging that much trash, but it payed off this time and I got lucky.
Thanks for the visit and friendly comment!

Great finds B-doo.

I thought of you this weekend when I had to go out of town and into a larger city-type place. There were playgrounds with woodchips everywhere. I hadn't seen anything like that....I guess I never noticed them until I started reading your posts.
I always enjoy reading them.
Keep up the good work.
