Reject Tube Silver! My Favorite Branch Pays Off Big!

So I went through 2 skunky boxes of halves and had to dump them. I decided to drive the extra 15 minutes to my favorite TD Bank branch in an older wealthy community. Now I have only found silver coins in the reject tubes of 2 coin machines, both TD banks. My favorite branch has given me free silver 5 out of 6 times now, but this time was by far the best. I always check before I begin dumping to see if the bag is blocking the tube. It usually is at this branch, this time was no different. The half dollar bag fills quickly in the machine. As they are opening it, I mention that I heard some coins fall down but they didn't make it to the tray. They told me no problem, I'd be able to get them when they open it up. As they open the machine I can't believe what I see. The tube was so overloaded that the PVC pipe had dislodged from the weight and the rejected coins were just falling in the machine! The pile was inches deep of coins with a Mercury dime staring face down at me right on the top!. The teller and I both knew that not all of the coins were mine, so I had to play it cool. I told her that I knew I didn't have any foreign, so off the bat I was giving up the 20 or so Euros and the $15 or so in Canadian that was in there, but I did have a bunch of dimes. She let me take out all the coins and sort them for the dimes. I would up getting 32 Silver Dimes! 5 of which were Mercury's. There was a 1947 King George silver Canadian Quarter in the mix as well, but not wanting to be greedy, I asked if I could give it to the kid waiting to use Penny Arcade after me. He must have been 10 years old or so and said he collected coins, so I am hoping it doesn't go to waste. The teller had no choice but to let him have it

Total haul from dumping my 2 skunk boxes of halves:
27 Silver Roosies
5 Mercury Dimes
$1.15 in clad dimes
1 Karma point! probably just made up for the fib about the dimes...

+2 for you! very good deed you did with the little kid, karma will come back to you. maybe next time a silver quarter will be waiting for you in the reject tube. This only happened to me twice at TD bank, once a 1949d silver quarter, i kept it, and the rest was foreign which I told the teller there were some of my coins in there. they let me keep the foreign rejects anyway. that resulted in a canadian $2 coin. my favorite foreign coin design of all time.

haha, no, that was a typo. it was $1.10

The Magnet was completely filled, so was the internal one on the disc. It looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a week, or someone decided to dump their foreign coin collection.

Ahh I like when they are so filled it's like scraping barnacles - barnacles that are valuable!
