Relic Detector

Ok, if you had 1,000 to spend on a new relic detector what would you get? I can go to 1,199 on a Minelab SE if it is the best, but if there is a detector out there say the Minleab x-70, for 699 that is almost as good. That would be OK.

I know there are a lot more issues concerning the choice, but in a basic question with no other thoughts. What would you choose.

One main issue is the ability tio hunt in"hunted out areas".

Minelab Explorer SE, X-70. Quattro, DFX, Fisher X-75 etc Tesoro?

xt 70 works great, love my T2 for relics, super stable, light, great audio, quick responce , f-75 would be similar, haven't try-ed the others, these are my top choicesfor relics, old coins the exp.

Gregs right on this one. At least the detectors he mentioned ARE the ones always mentioned with the work relic.

Not the Nautilus DMCII. Try the DMCIIb or DMCIIba. (Both about $550ish)

The Tejon is a good machine too. (About $450-$500).

The deepest relic machine if you don't want to go the German/Bulgarian P.I. route would be the Nexus but its way out your price range. The cut down version (Coranado) doesn't lose to much depth from its big brother and would come in around $1000.
Both won't work on wet sand and don't like high mineralisation much like the older (Arado 120 style) deep seeker ,the Saxon Ultradepth.

The tejon is the best budget detector on the market for relics and coins together. More of a relic detector it is preferred by many avid hunters. The T2 and F75 are also great reklic detectors with the F75 being more of a coin shooter. Don't discount what the T2 can do. ALthough it has some quirks it can go very deep and has persuaded many to swith.If you need any more help please let me know.

Whippetdog, I would contact TonyinCT. I have read alot of his posts, he has a lot of knowledge and experience and will not steer you wrong.
