Any ideas. It seems like its plated, so don't thinks its as old as the date on it. What do you think?

I have the exact same button. It seems to be painted or plated as well.. not so brilliantly gold, but more of a frosted gold color. My button also has the same circular "hole" although it doesn't go all the way through, of course. It's more like a little crater. If this is a reproduction of the coin, I am still wondering when the reproduction occurred!
