Rev War button or just an early civilian?

Hey everyone,
I found this button a while back in a field that I know there was a lot of rev war activity. In the same field I found 25+ Musket balls and some early buckles. I was just wondering if this button could be linked to the rev war activity somehow or if it is simply a civilian button. It appears to be cast and pewter and has/had a long shank. Not sure if my eyes are playing tricks on me but I think I see the #30 on the face of it. The button is 10mm in diameter but was probably more like 11mm when it was lost. Thanks! Yep I too believe it is cast pewter. Hopefully someone will know if I can link it to the rev. war somehow.

It looks correct for the period but I can't see anything that would attribute it to the war. There just isn't enough left of it...

If you think there is a 30 on it, research your area for the 30th Regiment of Foot.
