Markg from pa. and myself hit Island Park again this past Friday and mark pulled 2 V's and an Indian all right next to each other.....

well right before that down a good 10 inches (I asked mark to dig a huge scoop with his relic shovel) in the hole was this complete military shoe buckle......I knew I had seen it before and included in the pic is the page from Neumann's Rev War Relic Book with the pictures of the various buckles...........it is fully intact ....

this island had traffic with folks going over the donkey bridge through the park to the canal that ran up the river....so while most of the finds were late 1800's this one changes a little what we are learning.... aloha johny mc.- pennsy
enjoy the pic

Hey Johny mc,

Nice find on the buckle. I posted these items I found in an old field about a week ago in the "What is it" section. I was asking what the item in the top left was. No one knew. I think you just answered it. It's part of one of those buckles. Thanks!

Glenn
