Hi, I don't know much about paper currency and I came across this $100 Confederate note at a flea market over the weekend and something told me to buy it, so I did. I just wanted to see if you guys think that it may be authentic or not and what the value in the condition it is in may be.

Thanks in advance and if you need any better pictures of other parts of the bill let me know and I will be sure to post them.

After reading another thread in the "What Is It" section, I am pretty sure I have an authentic $100 confederate note. I can see that the ink is definitely brown and I used this site that was posted (by user 'Breezie') in that thread to check the serial numbers used on the known reproductions.

Tracking fake notes by serial numbers is a great tool...ebay has a section on fake Confederate notes, Grover Crisswell wrote a great book on the subject...great find if real!

I would say somewhere in the $20 to $30 range for value. Good start to a Confederate note collection!
