Well I hit the fields for the first time in about six months today, all the fields are well behind this year which actually suits me. I don't usually do club digs but when I learnt of the area they where going I was in...The vale of Pickering steeped in Ancient history. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vale_of_Pickering

Although the fields have seen many detectorists there is always a chance of a nice find or two, the soil easy to dig and kind on the finds. About fifty guys turned up for the event, and although finds where thin on the ground I think I found about the best on the day. My first coin of this ruler and quite a nice example at that, although a bit clipped on the flan I'll still take it. Hopefully in the coming weeks I will have a few more bits to show.

I'll never stop doing it, just slowing down a bit, and like I have said before that villa field spoilt me everything else seemed mundane and I compared all the fields to that one, which was wrong.

I know, it was a joke.

Glad you got out & was rewarded with a great looking scarce coin. Hopefully, you get a replacement site, we still need to find replacements, but getting hard to weave in the time.

That coin is stunning. Congrats. What I wouldn't give to hold such an ancient coin in my hand after finding it.

Oh my. (speechless)

You got some sharp detail on that one.
Are you saying 1 of only 190 made ? Wow that would make it super rare.
I still don't know how you fellas read those thing though.
First hunt in 6 months...thought I was going slow.
Good luck out there.

Speechless...congratulations! :notworthy:

Very nice little silver coin. The fields can be kind or a real booger on coins - yours being the former as you state. Congrats.

Congratulations on a beautiful silver coin. Very nice six and a half century old find. Five centuries older than anything I could hope for here. Thank you for sharing.

Are you saying 1 of only 190 made, No sorry Rick I missed the 3, I was giving the years he ruled 1371-1390 and missed the 3 from the date.
