are you sure its an eagle ? might be thunderbirds, meaning, a place which is sacred............gldhntr
 

Thanks gldhntr,could be they fit in,tons of Spanish signs symbols at the site,up the canyon a ways there are a lot of Indian carvings,your reply makes sense

Hi,
If they look like Indian pictographs, thats it. But if they are bird like statues of stone, or an out line of birds, In flight = Your on the trail , Pearched = Look to what its looking at, Walking = water close.

Yep. Eagles usually mean a sacred place. Of course, a thunder bird would be a place to stay away. You probably are in the vacinity of an ancient first nations burial ground.
 

Also, the Spanish used Bird Monuments to denote a change of course. One of the pictures I have (but haven't posted yet), for my Old Shaft Unearthed..... post is of what looks to be a crow. this is after several pointer and monument rocks. Look directly at what the bird sees. That is, if it is Spanish. If it is Indian, all the posts about a sacred place will apply.
