Rock hunting in ohio trilobites

I live close to a fossil pit know for trilobites. (Ceaser's creek state park ) Does anybody have advice for finding these elusive critters?

Depends on what type strata the critters are being found in.

Check with local rock clubs and see if the Trilobites are being found in any particular colored matrix.

Out here we find them in a green shale.

If it's shale just carefully dig through it, peeling the layers apart and check each slab carefully. The bigger the slab the more likely your going to find some thing.

If your working in limestone just break the rock apart with a hammer and check the interior of each piece you break off.
