Hey guys and gals I have a few more rocks I came across that looked a bit different. As y’all know from previous post I’m in south Louisiana so I don’t have creeks or any location where I can find a bunch of rocks or anything like most of y’all get search. I am in the swamp. So I find shell mounds on points in natural lakes and bayous and I’m able to find some beautiful pottery shards. I rarely ever see any type of rocks. Well I came across a few rocks that I would like to know more about. The main one is the large one. What stood out to me is a few points on the rock that appeared to have a polished look to them and they are located when your fingers would be if it were to be used for crushing or grinding. The very bottom corner opposite of where it would be held has a different tone to it but I did take a few pics of me holding it. And also tried to get photos of the polished areas. Also I found a rock with a hole through it. I’m pretty confident it looks natural and not man made but I love learning so I have pics of it as well. And last is some type of rock that has several layers. Kinda looks like a type of shell bc it reminds me of a part of a oyster shell that’s thick and layered but it seems to be a rock. Anyways thanks for any info and I truly appreciate everything I learn from you all. That looks to be chert stone and it can be found has far south in La. as Kinder across to Baton Rouge an lower. It's carried down by stream and rivers. So it would be hard for it to have been carried into the swamp. Your first photo could be a hammer stone if it has pecking sign on it. I would be looking in those shell midens, no telling what you might find.

Nice artifact I dont see those much

Thanks monsterrack and A2coins

These all look natural to me. The stone at the top has no signs of repeated impact or use. The hole in the other stone looks natural because I don't see any marks of human manipulation that went into the making of that hole. Keep looking.
