Went out Sunday to an organised dig near Gloucester found 13 roman bronses, some are reasonable but quite a few are very grotty. Will post pics after they have been cleaned and when I get home on the weekend.

Those are cool! Thanks for sharing. :)

Still very nice pieces of history! I left Europe with about 30 or so roman coins and all but maybe two looked just like those. Still my faverite finds.

Have you tried electrolysis on the grotty ones?
Here's one of mine that was absolutely unidentifiable before.

Great finds!

Had some friends who were from Cardiff. Lived next door for three years when we were in Germany. My wife learned how to make Welsh Cakes! Nice neighbors (or neighbours if you prefer).

Take care and HH.

Its a good total. Last year was the first year I started counting them. Dad & I had 234. Try totally them up for this year, it will be quite interesting :) (only had 2 today, very grotty)

Good luck

I live only 14 miles from Cardiff grndfisher, my wife makes the best Welsh cakes in South Wales.

Congrats on the Romans, any idea from what year/era they are form? HH, Mike

The left hand coin (of the center three) is a campgate (see one similar below). That should clean up nicely.

Well done!

Jim

PS: Keep your eyes peeled for one like the second; very rare. Const., 426ad.
