Roman gold coins found in St Albans field

[ottawadigs]

A "nationally significant" stash of Roman gold coins has been found by a man with a metal detector in Hertfordshire.
The discovery, on private land north of St Albans, is believed to be one of the largest Roman gold coin finds in the UK.
The identity of the man who found the coins is not being revealed.

Ditto! A great find.... it's still out there for those who look hard enough. TTC

It's stories like that one that get me excited every time my detector beeps. It doesn't matter that it usually turns out to be scrap...there's always the next target to seek and dream about!

enjoy the hunt,
