In the southern extension of the Dacian fortress presented here http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/421018-ancient-dacian-fortress.html , we started to climb on a wooded hill on some paths that were circulated in ancient times by riders. Dacian metal traces gradually disappeared and a long distance uphill remained only traces of shrapnel and shell casings from WW2 period. When we reached the top of the hill began appearing nails of roman military sandals (caligae). At the highest point of the area appeared more and more nails, and in this place I discovered other objects from the period of Roman domination such as iron spearhead , a bronze spur (a few kilometers away was quartered in an ancient Illyrian cavalry auxiliaries - ala numeri Ilirycorum) , a fire starter , an unknown object cylindrical of bronze , different nails of a wooden structure , iron buckle probably from roman harness.I found the explanation of these roman origin objects in an area of a few tens of square meters. It's about a Roman military watchtower. Is well seen in the ground quadrilateral (4 meters / 4 meters) wooden tower which was built.

:hello2:
There seems to be a missing link in the system of Roman military fortification on the north eastern limes of Roman Dacia. This tower had direct vision with a roman camp castrum nearby. Because the road nearby was used in the Middle Ages, I found a few items from that period, like a spur of the XIII century , iron arrowheads , iron bell...
Enjoy :hello:

Very cool Roman artifacts! I love the spur and the arrow points. Even the sandal nails are interesting.

very cool indeed, the earth has again given up history from an ancient time, a time where power and might of a great empire extended greatly. must be exciting to be able to detect in places like that.

Nice collection of ancient artefacts , congrats on your cool finds ..cheers Mick

You discovered a strange and interesting artifact...

I thought that this object that I found in the Roman area can be a mouthpiece of an instrument like that of cornicer or maybe an roman glass maker accesory…
