Nice sunny day but that meant the early morning freeze turned into a WWI trench. We predicted (hoped for) 10 scrappies today & thats what we got! The condition were so punishing Cru'dad stopped after 3.5 hours & I throw in the towel at the 4 hour point. That was plenty on my weaker knee.

Tudor Button
10 Roman Coins
1561 Lizzy Sixpence - Cru'dad picked it off the top.:laughing7:

PS. Notice the lack of the usual average finds (like buttons etc) - a sign of a site coming close to its end. (economically speaking)

Nice picking it off on the silver, nice detail on the one side.

Just a query on the site: How many deep plows has it had in the last 10 yrs?

None.
Most places now do the minimal till theory.

Diminishing returns are just a part of the game, although if I pulled a monster hammered like that I'd be picking the bones from the bones. Well done Cru
I know it was a freak find. I would have had this before the small 4 inch turn that tipped it to the top. So I had a bad swing or the Cortes missed it.
