Round Stones

[ValleyStones]

These stones were all found in a woods. Pic containing 3 triangular shaped stones (all flat), bottom left stone was found near RedBank Rd (RedBank trail in Evansville, IN)

If I had to pick Id say the last 2 are the most interesting to me. All look nice though I dont think the first set are more than cobble stones. I could be wrong, rock

You are welcome and welcome aboard. Did you have any glacial activity in your area? My understanding is that hard stones like that in that shape may be from glacial push or the bed beneath. Look forward to your post.

Does any of the stones show a different color on them? Ill show you some I have that are used as grinders.
The 2nd pic is a crude one but does show some work. Crude is usually ugly, lol. I havent shown this one before due to it being just plain ugly.

I don't see any evidence that any of those were altered by man so they are all just natural stones.

rock.. some rough textured stones were used for abraiding the surface of Flint in the knapping process during percussion flaking also.
That could account for some.

out here they were used as gambling stones and for cooking in baskets...you find them in a camp,its very good reason to be,"excited"

Northern Indiana, quite a bit of glacial activity.

ValleyStones, the glacial edge is supposedly just N of Vanderburgh Co. Hard to say, but I would guess they were dumped there by whoever the landscaping company was or something similar. Evansville's just one big trash dump, and the creeks here prove just that.

Only one was from vande. others are from noble county
