Rusty 1877 Seated..it was anyway.

A fresh ploughed field I did hit..yesterday,the only good target to be found.I did a little electrolysis
to rid it from a bad case of rust.

I think like that every time I dig an old coin. Thats when your discovery bridges time. THAT IS the reason I love detecting. You connect to those who were exactly where you are today. I often wonder if they ever thought this far into the future and if they ever imagined a "future dweller" would find that coin.

Congrats on a nice Silver find! For your info, Alcohol is pretty good for removing stains on Silver and Gold and I have never had Alcohol damage or alter the coins or items.
