Hi Everyone,
I have been using Sanborn maps for awhile. It dawned on me that not everyone may know about them.
Here is a good link that has Sanborn Maps for a lot of cities in Texas:
Sanborn Maps of Texas - Perry-Castañeda Map Collection - UT Library Online
Here are two examples. These are from 1885. One has the original downtown area of Fort Worth and the next is a close up of one segment.

In many instances, they have drawings of original buildings, including what the buildings housed by business type, and layouts of streets.
Happy Hunting.
