We are pleased to offer the following book for sale. It has two large folding maps that locate troop placements within the topography of the area. You see, for instance, where Morgan's Riflemen were placed on a ridge overlooking the battlefield.
This is a first edition. You can probably find a modern reprint if you want a cheaper copy. But, this would make a fine addition to any Revolutionary War or Metal Detecting reference library.
$45 post paid. Send me a PM if you are interested. Pay by PayPal or return a check to me after you receive the book.
DESCRIPTION:
Brandow, John Henry. The Story of Old Saratoga and History of Schuylerville. Albany, N. Y.: Fort Orange Press | Brandow Printing Company, 1900. First Edition. [7929]
Royal blue publisher's cloth with bright gilt titles, light edge-wear with small spotting to the back cover, 5 3/4 x 7 3/4 inches. B/w frontispiece of the Saratoga Monument, xxiv., 396 clean pp., bump to the fore-edge creasing some margins. 396 clean pp., index. Illustrations from photographs and two large folding maps. Good. Hardcover.
A military history of Old Saratoga with accounts of both the French & Indian War and the War of the Revolution, followed by a history of Schuylerville the town.
