After waking Up to a perfect summer day, by the time we got to the field, the rain, thunder and lightning had caught up with us… so we had a few breaks due to the heavy showers, but managed to gather some treasure!

A first for me from this field… a little Roman that I could actually clean for an Id! Then a bizarre find of a decapitated jockey (?) head 🤔 … then a nice something… lead weight and a musket ball, then the 3 stages of spindle whorl evolution 😆 ….! A little concave piece, button, a livery button with R… presumably for Rutland, the one on the left is different to our normal 4 holed ones, much smaller holes and more recessed 🤔 more buttons and finally a toasted pre dec!

tomorrow we are going to explore another part of this field…. ! xx

picture of the unusual storm clouds and Cedar hill… ! xx

Congrats on the Roman, good detail on this one.
I'm liking the item in photo #4, just can't place what it could be.
