Since Jeff has told the story and showed the pictures of our site in his post, I will just post my better finds for the day!

First Keeper coin of the day was this 1906 V nickel, only the second V I have found;

About 5 feet south of the V I hit a solid 11/35,12/35 on the Etrac and I was thinking old penny, and I was right! 1888 Indian cent;

And, although it's not a coin I thought this key chain was worth showing;

Happy Hunting!!

Nice looking oldies.
I Still don't understand the Nickel
.
But

at least it Looks like that dirt shell will peel right off it.

Definitely some nice keepers there!

Nice finds......Matt

Nice going Dave!!! What is with the soil there though, all the coins from that spot came out very nasty. High acid level?

That's the perfect type soil where the dirt crust peels off to reveal a perfect coin face. Congrats on a couple nice coins. That Indian Head is especially pretty :icon_thumleft: :wink:
