I've been saving my holiday for a good field/site, so today was that right time to take it.
The weather held off but we had a lot of rain yesterday which made for a sticky day, something we haven't experienced in awhile.
We gridded 3 hours in the morning on the Saxon site & Cru'dad got the 2 Sceats this time, now we both have 2, but I need to get a Saxon Penny to catch up!
After lunch we decided to expore the field next door & see how much Roman stuff had come up since our last outings. A bit disappointing with just 1 Roman coin in 1 hour. So we tried another field for 45 mins & after blanking we packed up.
4 hours 45 mins hunt;

4 Roman Coins
English Jetton
Saxon Hair Pin - strange this is the only artefact that matches the Sceats so far, where are the other finds?
6th C AD Saxon Equal Arm Brooch (rare)
2 Saxon Sceats Circa 700AD

Well done on the 2 Sceats, and the arm brooch.
It makes for a heavy foot when it's sticky.

We had 6 in 2017, but 2-3 seems to be average.

I think its my first complete one, & probably only got 2 others.
