Lately I have only posted "significant" finds and monday I scored a good one. Here's what happened. I did a little road trip and got a box of halves at a bank I hadn't been to in months. Searched it in my car and scored 18 x 40%ers. Made a dump and kept going. Didn't find anymore and was heading home. Called one of my CRHing buddies and he advised me to go back to the bank where I got the box and see if they had another one. Thank goodness he convinced me. Went back and got their last box. Took it home and while there I got a call from another bank that usually gets me boxes and they said my two boxes were in. Went and got them and then headed home to search the three I had. I did the two boxes I just got first and pulled a total of 26 x 40%ers. BUT...the best was yet to come. When I started going through the second box that I went back to the first bank for, I was a little disappointed as I only got 3 x 40%ers with only two rolls left. In the next to last roll, I got the best coin I have ever gotten out of the wild. It is a 1869-S Seat Liberty Half Dollar in spectacular condition. No wear or scratches. I couldn't believe it when I saw it. Anyway, I took it to my coin dealer and he and another professional graded it at VERY FINE ++. They both told me it was "just a hair under XF". I took some pix with my cell phone as my daughter who takes the best pix for me is out of town. I hope they come out okay. IF not, I'll have her take some photos when she returns and update. IT's out there. Keep looking.
