Scored my first mercury dime!

200$ in string rolls from a random stop bank.

A few rolls in I notice a strange looking rim, it is solid silver colored, but with no ridges on the side like a normal silver coin. My first assumption is that I've got a foreign coin. I pull it out of the stack and it is not foreign but rather an extremely worn mercury dime. My first merc. Unfortunately no date on it that is discernible, but still a really cool find.

Rolls also yielded a 1964 and 1954.

I think I'll look for more of the string variety!

Love those mercs, I remember my grandma, original crh'er, she worked at a small-town post office and would give me a couple that she'd found every time we'd visit. I miss grandma and those good-ol days.

I found my first mercury dime on friday, I picked up $50 in CWR dimes from a new bank

1942 D VF20

Definately a thrill!!

Congrats! I think I average about 100 roosies for every Merc. Very exciting.
