The very first yard sale of the day this lady had a table of jewelry all pinned to a mat.
She had a sign 25¢ each or 8 for $1.00
I saw a few I thought might be nice and picked a few more to 8 pieces.
I just tested this bracelet. 12K & 16 grams

BINGO! .125¢ = $321.00
This looks vintage and even has something for a pat #. I may even try selling for more than melt as vintage.
The non-clasp end has a bad solder job.

Dan,

Good score kind of has an art deco look to it...any makers marks that you can see?

Regards + HH

Bill

why don't I find yard sales like that?

So far this is all I can find in the way of marks. It is stamped on the little part that connects the square links.

PAT.FEB 3.85

The bracelet can be worn both ways. The other side has a pattern.

All the gold jewelry I've sold on eBay has gone for at least spot and many times more.

I just had somebody come through my site offering about 50% of spot and then when I tell Him I can not sell that low, he turns around with some sob story saying he's an opera singer and wants to buy gold for his family, "please sir, please consider my offer for the best interest of my family!! "

Right, because I woke up today worried about your family!! Whatever!!!

[emoji24][emoji24][emoji24] but Beachkid, think about the children!! [emoji38][emoji38][emoji38]. You should have said: " I can offer some cheese with that whine!" Or break it out in song!

I know. I've had some weird requests before. Seems it's been more frequent in recent year's.

Sincere question: How do you determine 12K gold exactly? Obviously we all have 10K and 14K acid solution. Sometimes 14K solution will very slowly eat away the mark of something which passed the 10K acid test, as opposed to immediately vanishing. Is that why you would call something 12K gold? The bracelet looks pretty modern (judging by the clasp), and I'm not familiar with a lot of present day manufacturers that regularly work with 12K.

oh--amazing score!

Because I have this machine. It actually indicated a low 12K / high 11K
It is very accurate on gold and pretty good on silver. (it was not made to test silver but I talked to the inventor and he told me how to check silver)
