Although at first blush it appears to be a British regimental button, no 16th Highland Scottish Regiment or anything similar appears among the listings at http://regiments.org/regiments/index.htm

Nor is this button cataloged in either Parkyn's or Ripley's book on British (including Scottish) buttons.

It does appear in a price list of Canadian regimental buttons— #127 under "Canadian Buttons" abut halfway down the page at http://www.arcticmedals.com/page/page/3730644.htm

However, no such regiment can be found in the Index of the Regiments and Corps of Canada at

http://www.regiments.org/regiments/na-canada/lists/cargxref.htm

One of these buttons was posted last November (said to be one of several found), and at that time Trk5capt suggested that it looked like a modern blazer button.

Based on the information cited above, and the button's modern construction, I think that's likely the case.

Keep it up man!! Im gonna take a day off and clean and seed your spots soon.jkg.Another good dig buddy.WTG.

Nice button! HH, Mike

Beautifull find civilman. If your in the States then I can tell you that there is a keen collectors market in the UK for that button. Not sure of value, (I don't know a thing about buttons),but it's in really excellent shape.

Ooops! I should have read PBKs post first. If anybody on this forum can give you a valuable opinion, then it is PBK. It's a cool find anyway.
