After trying 6 fields yesterday on one of our newest farms, we knew where to start our gridding for nearly 5 hours.

For new land with no obvious sites, this was a good result:
(1 hammered each but Dad got the better coin)

2 Scrappy Roman Coins
Hammered Ed I Penny
Edward II FARTHING 1307-27 (Our first Ed II farthing) :headbang:
18th C Sword Belt Fitment
2 Crotal Bells (still ring)
2 Good Buckles (my smallest snake type, I think)
Medieval Spindal Whorl
Medieval Gold plated whatzit
Star shaped Horse Brass Decor (18th C, I think)

Wonderful finds ! :icon_thumleft:

Look at the state of that 20p compared to the coins that have been in the ground for hundreds of years ::) They don't make em like they used to ;D

You had a good day anyway :icon_thumleft:

:o

Quite a good shape for the farthing, they usually very poorly made

This land is our fall back plan, although we hammered the best spot & will need to seek out another

You did well on day two! Nice hammered! Like the bells, but the swan shaped s-thingy is my favorite.

...and You got lots of celtic ring money too..... :laughing9:

These small coins are amazing ...

Great assortment...I can't even imagine where you keep it all...that which you keep of course.
