Scraper made of unusual material.

This is the only piece I have of this strange material, it's translucent black with frogs egg like splotches of color, found in southern va. Anybody have any ideas of what this material may be?

the egg structures are ooliths. i have a piece of similar material and have seen this chert in a few different colors, all in scrapers and chips.

Looks like Chalcedony. I have found a few points made of that, makes a change from the Ol' Rhyolite.

Molly, I know what you mean about the ' Ol' Rhyolite ' I find more red quartzite than rhyolite, but I find plenty of low grade rhyolite as well, I think I'm just north enough to be in a wide range of lithics. I would really like to find even a field grade example of an arrowhead made of this material. I'd also like to see those points of similiar material, if you have the time to picture and post them, thanks for the comments pick, and wells.
