SEASON 8

On this week's show....

They had a drilling down episode in which they reviewed all the theories, which was nice because they didn't have to review them again as part of the finale. The theory unanimously rejected by the team is that of pirate buried treasure.

In the path, they find a Troy ounce counterweight, perfect for measuring treasure.

In total they have found 700 objects this year.

The trace elements found in the water samples do not exist in the C1 sediment - therefore the elements are not being leached from the ground.

Justification for the BIG DIG in SEASON 9!

It’s like a train wreck. I can’t stop looking lol.

So yet another episode of nothingness.....

If you watch closely sometimes you’ll see the actors starting to crack up as the camera pans away....

And 10. And 11. But still nothing will be found. And 12. And 13. Etc., etc. Zzzzzzzzzzz.

Which is funny considering that the original treasure story was about Capt Kidd's pirate treasure.

I was expecting a bit more proof of 'real treasure' on the island than water samples with traces of silver. They worded it like there was a real tangible piece of something they found... fooled again.

Yep.. Someone probably dropped a silver spoon down one of the holes.

That certainly justifies spending a few more million $$ to dig some more holes..

Did they say when and where this was most likely from?

In total they have found 700 objects this year.
And not a single one that supports treasure being buried on OI....

I thought they said the object weighed 45 grams...about 1.4 Troy oz. It baffled me how they jumped on that "being used for measuring precious metals". It is very close to being 1/10 of a pound avoirdupois (0.0992 lb). Perhaps too fine a weight for measuring out produce or grain, or even bulk commodities like salt or sugar...but useful for measuring out something sold in smaller quantities....like gunpowder?

Perhaps if all other explorations fail, they can build a machine to extract the silver from the water and still walk away with a bunch of silver ingots.

According to 'calculations', that silver spoon would need to be the size of one of Billy Gierhart's trucks. (of course, those calculations weren't shown).

Ahhh...the “Billy Giehart dump truck unit of measure”.......

I think, deep down, everybody, including the OI crew + TV viewers, want to see REAL treasure too, so the water samples and the sediment samples, are a real shot in the arm (Not Covid-19 vaccine, either!) and a boost to morale...! :icon_cheers:

That guy looks like he could put on an adult baby costume and pull it off.

They called it "trace" amounts. In water samples "trace" means detected but too small to measure. So Mr. Gierhart's trucks must be microscopic.

If not by pirates, could it be from the Welsh descendants that according to Wilson & Blackett fought at Troy in 650BCE then voyaged with King Arthur in the 6th century AD to mine gold, silver, tin , and copper, or Henry Sinclair and his band of merry geriatric Templars, or freebooter Freemasons from the Royal British Navy?
So many possible suspects that came to Oak Island to dig a big hole to hide a fabulous treasure that they NEVER intended to reclaim.

Even this list omits Bacon and Shakespeare.

Don't forget aliens (specifically the martians) that some here said that the Templar who came to hoax island used the time/space warp tunnel there to visit and return from Mars......

The assertion of a "dump truck full of silver being buried there" is plainly not true. If there was a vast quantity of silver buried it would of shown up when in season 5 when the did the geo tech drilling and metal detected the whole area. The metal detecting showed no large amounts of metal buried in the money pit area (even the small amounts they found resulted in them digging the large shafts and finding nothing). So how could a large hoard of silver been missed. It is simply not plausible.

How does their "expert" know how much water is in the holes he is testing? If he does not know what water volume exists then how could he know how much silver is needed to show the trace elements which are being claimed to be found?

This just looks like 'spin' to claim a reason for another wasted season.

Did none of the people in the room ask "How could all the holes we drilled not show a single pice of silver if there is a dump truck worth of silver buried there?"

Where do they find these "experts"?

I would assume they used the amount of water being tested as their volume of water to gauge how much silver per X.....
Unless they actually hit the deposit of silver with the drill bit they wouldn't find it. IF they dropped down some kind of sonar type device or maybe a metal detector they could if it is within it's range.. Not sure if they did any of that in each and every hole...
We've all seen the pic of Dan and Dunfield down in his big hole but at full depth it is only 5'-6' wide as you can see in that pic. They could be just off alittle and miss it...

Not saying anything of this is what is happening but it easily could...
