I've been digging clad most of the month and finally today had an urge to get out, swing slow and dig deep. Went to a Park I've hunted a few times in Western Ohio and only had about an hour to swing. Was a little warm and had a friendly swarm of mosquito's keeping me company. Wish I would have taken the camera with me for a few shots of this small park because it offered some great views!! First hit was right in the corner of the screen and was about five inches deep was the lawnmower hit quarter. Second hit told me it was a nickel and it showed deep. Dug a plug and again about the five inch range pulled the 1868 Shield Nickel!! I was pumped and did the double fisted pump because this was my first Shield Nickel of the year. Not more than a couple steps later had a rather crappy signal deep enough for me to dig and first I saw the back, already knew it was a Seated Dime by the wreath, but badly worn. My second Seated Dime this year was dated 1854. I'll post a better pic later of the dime. The last hit of the day was my big copper and I enjoy finding this old copper wire because the price of copper being so high it doesn't take much of this to add up!! Unfortunately time was up and had to get home to take my daughter to the park for some fun. I haven't been posting my clad and getting close to 7000 for the year, not DFX Gregg totals, but I'm enjoying both the old and the new finds!!

Nice finds Jack, you must have some great spots to hunt out there with the national road running right through there. Using google earth I have seen several long stretches where the old road used to run but was moved. Also there must be some good spots where the old railroads used to run. Good luck out there and let us know if you need any backup...Shoot

Time and driving well spent!

I love seeing coins like that pop out of the ground at a park.

Congratulations!

Last year someone came to Richmond to visit family and found 1 $10 gold piece at an old depot. I've not been that lucky here, but still good finds to be had!
