Second time in the sandbox

So I went out today to play in my new sandbox. I took my homemade sifter toy with me. The other day I found 4 large cents and a capped bust dime using the F75. Today I found 4 more coppers, half reale. pewter button and tombacks. Nothing like sifting in sugar sand!!

The sifter is 2'x2'. It works really well in sandy soil. I made a back pack sifter that a little bigger and has rollers but 2' is a good size. You would be surprised as to how much more is past the detector limits. 3' or more it's common to find good coins. Before filling in the hole I detect the bottom and sides and usually get even more. Plus, I get the Indian artifacts for an extra perk. It's tough work but well worth it!!
