my second trip out yesterday to the new field I have been hunting proved to be better than the first. I got to a spot on the other side of the field that had been cleared by the dozer earlier in the week. I still found some great pieces. I have never seen so many different types of points in one place. Possibly the area was used for many years by different tribes??? I found some interesting ones yesterday that I am guessing they were pieces started and never finished for some reason. Would like to get some opinions as to what kind of piece is in pic #6. thanks for looking.

In one day? Holy sheep doody! Give me one day like that in my life and I will die a happy man.:headbang:

Get back to that spot after every rain!! Even before they plow it!! Pick up anything weird looking and bring it back to examine later, you may really be happy you did that. Just a stellar spot you've got, congrats!!

My Goodness! You had an extreemly fruitfull outing. It appears that you found some awesome artifacts, and it also appears that a return visit is a must do. Congratulations on your finds!

You're on an incredible multicomponent field, Woodland - Paleo. That Quad is one of the best surface found points I've seen this year. The square knife and the uniface tool imo also look paleo. Great finds and pics.

Awesome day or should I say a banner day! Nice quad!!! Like everyone said hit that field definitely a early archaic field........GTP

That Triangle is it a Benton maybe? Great pieces. Wow! The Huntress is rocking.

here are the pics you asked for of the last piece. I have included some to show the curve that it has and how smooth it is on one side. one end seems to have been worked and the other end is broken. it also has a stress fracture starting in it and I don't want to handle it too much. I'm afraid it will break again.

yep I found all of those and about 15 more pieces, mostly the ends of broken points and knives. Spent most of the day there and didn't want to leave when it got dark.

I thought so too. I looked it up in my book and it looked exactly like the piece called Benton.

Ill have to take your word on it being broken the lithic is hard to see where it broke at. Looks almost like a square knife. I see the fracture in it, thats a shame. I put glue on mine when they start to break Elmers works great. Dries clear and can be washed off in warm water if you ever want to take it off. Did you find any of these by the spring? Where I hunt at I have found from Dalton to Mississippian periods. Its hard to decide where to start at when I go there. I am glad you inspired me to go Sunday cause it has been raining since 2pm today and it would of been a muddy mess tomorrow if I decided to go then. You found some truly amazing things. Now you have to get some frames for them so they wont get damaged further. Thanks, rock
