could this be a shang dynasty jade figure? It has allot of encrusted sand on it and old grinding marks.

Could very well be a sand casting where it wasn't totally cleaned of the casting sand.
Can you provide a clear photo of the bottom of the feet, top of head, and the sides?

it is made of jade, so it is not cast.
