Wow, did we try hard today, spent 10 hours solid detecting on the best field I had available to give Shaun7 a B/D Prezzie. (Dad was away for the today)

86 buttons - best 1 day total.

1 poor Hammered Silver
Possible Saxon Buckle Plate (badly broken)
Very nice Medieval Buckle plate with Sea monster design
Romano-Celtic fragment of a mid-late 1st C AD plate Brooch

Star find & something worth the pain for, was a Roman Knife Terminal - Bust of Mars This is my second of these, but my other is quite a bit larger.

Stunning Knife terminal the Saxon peice I think is the plate part of a cruciform or square headed brooch :P...great day out

We've had a lot of rain here over the last few days so the fields should be just right tomorrow morning. The weather forcast is good for Sunday . Did shaun have his anorak

and did he dry off before he went home

he did but it wasn't so water proof I just got wet, its warm enough, & with all the digging, we nearly dried off between showers.

Yes, but I'm right on the cusp so it makes me a bit prickly for most Sagitarius(es?).

I'm usually happy to find a brownie sundae on my b-day. Maybe this year I'll go hunting.

Almost every post I've seen from you and your Dad, you guys find a ton of great stuff
Tell me . . . what do you do with all of it? Preserve it, donate it to museums, sell it,
or do you simply display it in your private warehouse museum?
