She's bent with a hole in her head! But I'll take her! 1875 seated dime

Went for a couple of hours to one of my old permissions and dug a bunch of junk and finally hit a 91 on the D2!! Turned out to be a 1875 seated dime with the hole lined up perfectly with where the mint mark should have been on the obverse sides.

A Seated Dime in any condition is a great find - congrats !

I just straightened out a very bent 1926 Mercury Dime I found a few days ago.
Put it between two pieces of hardwood and hit the wood with a hammer a few times - worked pretty well.

I have straightened a few using the city phone book.
I was thinking of using my bearing press 🤔
I have a couple of 6" round 3/8" plates.
Just need a cushion of some type.

Nice coin. I’ve been reading up on holing of coins. Seems like they were sewed into clothes, worn on necklaces, or used as buttons.

Finding a seated is still on my bucket list.
I similar use 2 piece’s of hard wood, but squeeze it in a vise to straighten my bent coins.
