SHIELD NICKEL FIND

 You don't see many of them in boxes! What's the date?

Too bad it is worn out, dateless, but still you can see some details on the front and back. Will be posting pics, probably not worth much as it is dateless.

Nice find!

Sheild Nickel was once my nickel goal, but I've all but given up on nickels.

I had the vending machine guy give me "an old Canadian nickel" once that was actually a 1902 US V nickel.
I found a decent 1891 V nickel in the foreign coin bin at the LCS recently for 0.20.

The vending machine guy I can understand, but the LCS :icon_scratch:

Here are the pics:

Would anyone also know the value of this? But still, at least I got a shield nickel in the beginning of the year (even if it is terrible). :blob7:

5 cents? Its an interesting curiosity but you'd have a heck of a time getting anyone to pay more than face value for that.

priceless.

Cool, thank you. I wasn't expecting much as it is nearly at the end of its' life. Well, at least it has a resting spot. Also, would anyone know what the value of an 1886 V nickel because a bank teller gave that to me because he knows that weird coin curio. Pictures to come, but it is ugly.

1886 was the 3rd lowest (not counting 1913) mintage of that coin. Even ugly, I'd expect it to have some value.

Awesome find in any condition! Still on my wish list. Congrats!

That's a great find! I'd take one of those in any condition.
