Ship Spikes & OLD Button

Hello All!
After a week or so away from detecting, I finally got out :hello2:
Found a new (old) boatyard, dug almost 20 copper spikes & a pewter button.
third of this exact design found at 2 different sites :dontknow:
a lead slug with impression that fits a quarter exactly.
couple thin convex brass pieces, not buttons :icon_scratch:
an encrusted whatsit that turns out to be a brass battery connector
Oh yeah, a matching pair of oarlocks.
these were all shallow digs from a 20' X 20' square.
seems unsearched, so why no coins :dontknow:
also pics of nearby mill pond wall & some ground structure.
Mike, I need one of those GPXs :help:
Thanks for looking & HH to all

Great Finds! The brass discs are furniture tacks that are missing their tack points,

Damn, you are one dedicated detectorist....

I'm up to my eyeballs (almost literally) with snow. All I can do is dream of warmer days ahead!!

Keep at it. That's a lot of targets for a small area. Site looks promising. I'm sure the coins will come...

Good luck

Re: Ship Spikes & Button

Hi All!
while researching other buttons, I came across this great button site which shows similar flower lead alloy buttons.
15-16th century, happy to have found several of these buttons from the areas earliest settlers :hello2:
