Short hunt equals gold gilted button

Found a civilian scovills extra one piece button today and looked online and can't date it for the life of me. Also what's the best method on cleaning gold gilted buttons there's a lot on it thanks. HH!!

I've heard a lemon juice soak and a soft brushing will clean up that button, but I'm not an expert and only know what I've seen in YouTube videos from other detectors.
