Hello Forum,

The weather here in Upstate NY has been terrible, but I managed to get out today and swing the coil. I dug an old button, and a 1935 Wheat. Thanks for looking.

Thanks. Can anyone confirm if this is a Tombac, or give a date range?

Nice finds! I think copper alloy, Tombac usually shine up nicely right out of the ground. Just found a copper alloy that needed quite a bit of work to clean up. Looked cruddy like the one you found. However, mine was not concave on the reverse. I am no expert though.

I’m leaning toward 1785-ish, but am not certain. The back looks a little different that most I’ve seen.

Thanks Blackfoot58. This is interesting. The hand made stone well that I found this by could predate the farm house.
