Strange but TRUE

A MAN tried to loosen a stiff wheel nut by shooting it with a shotgun - and ended up in hospital with both legs seriously damaged.

The 66-year-old man, who police insist was stone-cold sober, was fixing the car outside his Washington state home when he fired at the wheel from arm's length with a 12-gauge.

He was peppered with buckshot and debris and taken to hospital with severe injuries from his feet to his abdomen. Some pellets even reached his chin.

Police said the man had been repairing his car for weeks and had managed to take off every nut except one. Unable to budge it, he turned to his gun.

"He's bound and determined to get that lug nut off," police spokesman Scott Wilson said.

What a nut. Everyone knows you're supposed to use dynamite.

Sounds like a defective linkage between the gas pedal and the steering wheel!!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D

hmmmm.....I have to say that we have all felt like doing this at one time or another.....but to actually follow it through....um.....no..... ::)

I wonder if after all that if it worked or if he missed the nut

If he missed it with a shotgun, I can see why he's having problems! Don't know about the nut, but he may be missing a few screws, too.

proof that guns and stupidity don't mix well
