Shotgun signal turned into Virginia Button

I thought I was digging another shotgun shell and it turned into a Virginia button. Found a couple of other keepers today. I was wondering if anyone had ideas on the lead disc. A button or weight for something?

Ive seen that disc thing before cant remember what it was. I love that virginia button I never cared much for buttons till I became a tnetter they are like coins all kinds of designs and old ones Great find

Yes, some went in curtains as well. Thats why families sometimes swapped them for gold coins, so they were well hidden.

Nice find. We must dig all the mid tones. I had a shotgun base turn into a NY button with all the gold on it once. And yes, it's a hem or curtain weight, sewn in to hold them down.

What do you mean? These went on the base of the curtain to hold them down, as well as skirts.
