Dang, that's a bummer Mike. Looks like a Doug fir that needs a long bar. Good firewood if it is and not rotten. Tricky cut.

Bluebird day and 70 here, but the seasonal road is still ice covered and freezing drizzle on my beach today.

Not uncommon for tree's to come down where I mine so I always have chain saw in my car. Be prepared.

I'm going back up this weekend with help and a good saw as mine, which would have been with me, if it was running right. If the locals don't beat us to it, we'll have firewood at the claim all season.

A few years back I got into the mountains on the early side, mid May, only to find the roads & trails were snowed in. I figured no big deal it will all melt off soon! By the middle of June the main road had been plowed but there was still over 6' of snow on all the trails. The trails were open mid July. But, that led to a great deal of exploration I'd have never done had the snow been gone! I do not want to see the late snow cover happen this year, then again we ain't got a choice in that!

Best of success with that tree and the chain saw work, keep the blade oiled and sharp and stay safe!..................63bkpkr
