Hi Everyone... just thought I would put it out there, for any of you aspiring historical shipwreck salvors, that there is a set of (3) DVD's I saw on listed on ebay which provide professional training on Side Scan Sonar, Magnetometers, and Subbottom Profilers and the interpretation of the various survey images. I have this set myself and it is excellent, clear, and detailed training done by a survey expert who trains many government agencies, military ops, and archaeological groups on the use of this equipment. If interested, do a search under "shipwreck" on ebay and it should come up for you in the listings... its an expensive set (I paid $295 for mine), but this seller has listed it for much less. These DVD's have proven to be an invaluable training resource and was well worth the investment for me personally in my treasure hunting endeavors. Just figured I would mention it
in this forum in case anyone was seeking this training but didn't know where to look... happy hunting... Phips :icon_thumright:

Theres over a million listings for "shipwreck" on ebay.you can post the item number or a link to it here.

I didn't post the specific eBay item number here because I figured that it would cause this thread to be deleted by the moderators for attempting to sell something on this forum and that was not my intention... Just trying to be helpful to those who may be interested by bringing attention to this set of instructional DVDs related to shipwreck salvage. Interested parties can probably enter "DVD - side scan sonar training" or something like that in the search box and it might pull it up that way. I can post the item number to help out if the moderators are cool with that...

Ok... Well, I guess it's ok then so there you go... Thanks Trembull...

Thanks for posting, I'll keep it in mind for the future! I'd love to get that and learn about it, but I'll have to wait til i finish college and make some money, LOL. :laughing7:

FriscoT06... Yeah I hear ya'. This set was not cheap but the training that it provided would have been very difficult to obtain elsewhere and it was very instrumental in getting me started on my own historical shipwreck endeavors.

Yes, this is a must have for me in the future. I was just trying to figure out how to go about learning the equipment last month, nothing as promising as this. Thanks for posting!
