Silver 1/2 Dollar and Dime

Tonight I found my first 1/2 dollar and a mercury dime. I swore it was a quarter and even looked like one for a second when it came out. She's a little beat up but I was glad to see her.

Congratulations, those are spectacular, I would check the value of the Half though because it's an S mintmark, which is rare unless your West Coast..
Something else that seems to me to be interesting... Silver Halfs must have been a pretty common coin back in the day considering how many are found..
I always say that people lost what they had... considering that I have maybe found 10 in 40 years (which doesn't seem like a lot, But a lot have been found by a lot of different people) These were minted in huge quantities and were apparently well circulated coins...

Congrats on your first Half dollar. That coin really isn't beat up, that's more the norm for Half dollars. It just has normal wear. It is in real good condition, as well as the Merc.
