I finally dug a few things worthy of posting. I've been lurking on this site for over a year and just now posting some recent finds.

I was hunting this early 1800's horse track site yesterday and within 15 minutes dug my second ever Large Cent. Then an hour later dug my first ever silver 3 cent coin. I'm afraid that I "cleaned" what was left of the date right off the copper. I could make out 182x before I tried to make it better.

The rest of the finds are from two other sites, one a mid 1700's Colonial site that was abandoned in the early 1800's and another a local 1795 house that that had some Union CW activity on the property. I was pretty excited to dig my first shoe buckle frame and I dug what looks to be a small portion of a knee buckle. Thanks for looking!

Nah, You ain't no screwynewy, looks as though you know what you're doing! Which machine did you get the 3center with? They are tiny little buggers now. Been kicked around a bit, but, It's in SUPER condition, hardly any wear,if any at all! NICE God Bless Chris

Thanks everyone for the kind comments. I hope to be posting more frequently with more good finds.

Thanks Chris, I hit the Trime at about 5 inches using my T2 SE. It rang up a solid 70 on and didn't waiver a bit. At first I thought is was another flat button since I've dug about 30 from this site. Then I saw the III inside the C and new immediately what it was. I'm not sure if I dinged it with my digger or if it happened in my pocket but there are some fresh scratches on it. Its a shame because otherwise its probably EF-40 or better with a little crusty dirt stuck to it.

Clean that puppy up and repost it,I'd sure like to see it,scratches or not.

Beautifully done. You got some real keepers I think. I like that buckle there.

Congratulations on the superb finds!!!

Awesome finds, nice 3 center(very hard to find).

Some great finds there. Don't feel too bad about the date on the large cent. Lots of us have done that at one time or another. The 3 center is the one I'd have been concerned about anyway, that is a great looking coin! Still looking for my first.
HH.

1853 looks nice!

Very nice assortment of early coins, buttons, buckles and bullets. A nice piece of spanish silver should follow soon. Good hunting!!
