Recently, I was given permission to search a new area of the Culinary Institute. At the edge of the north parking lot, there is a large wooded area that has some foundations of homes from 1895-1930. A small "kill" runs through the middle to the hudson, and the property extends to the boundary of FDR Home Nat'l Park. After doing some research, I've started to hunt the area nearly every day after class and on the weekends. Finally, the research is paying off. I found few coins, but a bunch of other cool stuff. There's even a bottle dump on the property. Too bad most of them are broken! Last week, I found 3 pieces of silver: A 1968 45% silver dime, a nickel/silver spon, a sterling silver cross, 5 wheats:1917, 1920, 1930, 1934, and 1935, 75c in clad, and a glass from the bottle dump which reads" No. 63. PAT. IN. U S DEC. 22. 1903 JULY. 17. 1906 M 35". I'm in Breakfast class for 3 more days, which starts really early at 2 AM !It lasts until 9, so there's plenty more time for detecting (or a nap!) afterwards. The second pic is the broken bridge where I found the silver cross. Thanks for looking

Nice finds, love the cross. ;D

Looks like a great spot, keep at it.I love the Hudson valley ,so beautiful and great potential finds.

Hey SMS-
Not surprized by the crucifix- as the CIA campus was once a Jesuit Semenary. Would think you'd find a whole lot of religious stuff there, with a bit of poking. Nice finds- good luck and keep looking! (and good luck w/ AM Pantry. As I remember, the class was fine, but the transitions from normal hours to AM Pantry really sucked)

Nice job, keep up the good work.

Welcome to the forum SMS88. It would seem we have two common interests. I just graduated from Culinard at Virginia College in Birmingham AL. and I also am fairly new at MD'ing. I took the pastry/confectionary degree. I am hunting with an Ace 250. HH!,chefman
