Hey all..

I have been kinda quiet lately, not a lot of time to get out and considering the great weather that stinks. Anyway The first week of the year I got to hit a couple of local parks for an hour or so, and then got out with MarkGpa on the weekend. The first photo is from those hunts, at least I got some silver (46 rosi, 39 merc, 42 merc.)

Yesterday I got permission to hunt a early 1800's site that was a funeral home after about 1920. I hunted it for about 2 hours today, at first it was clad city and then by a big tree (I am told it is the 4th largest trees in N.J.) I got a 43 Merc. After that I was hitting some wheats 1922-1950s and I got a strong but broken signal by another tree, In the same hole I got a 1915 Buff, 1908 V, a 1917 wheat and a 1912 wheat. I was about to leave for the day and on my way out I was swinging along the sidewalk and pulled my first Flying Eagle cent.
It is pretty flat on the eagle side so there is no date But I guess its not hard to narrow the time period, so for argument sake lets say its an 1856...he he..yea thats the ticket..
Needless to say I am going back...

Thanks for looking H.H. TnT

OMG!!! :o ::) ??? Like Woa! Now dudeman, THAT is a real haul there friend! Anybody in here would be tickled pink I'm sure, to unearth these treasures of yours! That's only your first tour too. 8) This "sacred" ground you've been smart and lucky enough to spend some very quality time at already, has many stories to tell you yet. Glad to see how you've been listening so far.

Pulling that kind of kool old American history out of the earth like that, after it all being accidently spilled and lost many, many years ago, is a rush of the senses which is hard to explain unless you've felt it like others in here have, to some degree or other. I've had the hair on my arms stand straight up, when I pulled one of my first old Canadian quarters out of six inches of black soil, on a very well worn path before. :o When these types of cool old historical treasures are found and recovered, they are also loved and or coveted and then kept with respect for the past and finally , now, being shared with all here, is so Super!

You've done a beautiful job here TnT2000, of "getting the hair on my arms to stand up", which I think most of your readers/viewers here may agree, with your great photos! Thanx SO much for sharing buddyman!

Looking forward to your next installment of TH'ing adventure!

hey thanks for that great write up Larry....I was stoked and can't wait to go back...H.H. TnT

great diggs!!! Ive only ever found one Flying Eagle cent, great find! not something you find everyday!

;D Yer welcome TnT, its 'all true... ;D

Something similar to your first days hunt there would be maybe like me beatin' it up for at least a week in at least three or four spots. :-\ I think the main reason for that is our lower population densities. ::) Simple math, less people, less coins! 8)

Oh ya, thanx for making another little light bulb go on in my ol' brain re: Funeral homes areas!?! :o Dude, really, they are NOW on my list for ones I've already done a little detectorless recons on. ;) Come on spring!!! ;D

later tNtman ;)

What a great array of finds! The 'Flying Eagle" cent is something I have dreamed of finding my whole 'detecting' career. They are very beautiful and interesting to look at. Great digs! Let us know what else you uncover! Happy hunting.
