silver and ornate little box

I did some detecting with my brother near a local dump that is from the 50's and we dug a nice '53 D rosie and a little box, possibly silver, with a fancy design on it. I was thinking it is an old match box but im not sure. Any help would be appreciated. Outstanding find!! found a few Lil boxes similar over the years, none as beautiful as that one!! Congratulations.

Wet it (spit works) and wrap it in Tin foil. Wait a few minutes and open it up. Should smell like rotten eggs if it's silver. Awesome find!!

Pretty sure that is a lipstick compact. There was probably a mirror inside the top at some point. My grandmother had one that looked a little like it. Probably dates to the 1940's, Neat find!
