Today at the soccer fields a guy Appalachians while swinging and told me about a mason jar full of silver halves and silver dollars he buried as a kid. Be told me where buried them and about how deep. But was wondering if my pro will find the jar he said it's about 1-2 deep. It sad 40 years ago so he wasn't certain. Be also said there was around $150 face value all change. Thanks HH

It will ring up a mason jar full of coins easy at a foot. I would say 2 may be pushing it but I have located man hole covers at work at over 2 feet deep.

WRONG! The difference in signal return from a manhole cover and a jar of coins is in orders of magnitude! Here is the sad reality: A jar of coins does not read as a large mass. It reads as individual coins together, so there is very little additional signal over a single coin. The biggest signal would be off the lid, if it had a metal lid.

No, I'm saying that if you can hit a silver dollar at 1 foot, don't expect to hit a jar at 2 foot. I seriously doubt you will hit a dollar at a foot deep though unless you are hunting in sand.

atpro will hit a half pint jelly jar full of silver at 12" with or without lid you can take that to the bank.
